NetworkOmni® was originally a small, traditional
language service provider, based in Los Angeles, California
and operated on a part-time basis by George Ulmer, Chairman
& CEO. In l992, the company launched their on-demand
Telephone Interpreting services in response to the requests
of its on-site and translation clients. Today, headquartered
in Thousand Oaks, California, NetworkOmni employs over
300 employees and works with over 2,500 part and full
time language professionals throughout the world ---
in support of its clients' mission critical, emergency
response and business growth requirements. NetworkOmni
maintains global operations with centers based in Los
Angeles, Portland, Toronto, Miami, Lima, Santo Domingo
and London.
2006 – PSTC Partnership Announcement.
2003-2004 – NetworkOmni successfully launched the official "Telephone Interpreting" Certification program in the Spring of 2003.
2000-2002 – NetworkOmni designed and developed a best in class "Telephone Interpreting" certification program geared at establishing universal industry quality standards. These efforts were conducted with the assistance of an outside Advisory Board (comprised of language professionals from the University of Hawaii, Santa Monica City College and Second Language Testing,Inc.) and a team of consultants from UCLA and the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Official certification and formal introduction of this program is expected in 2003.
1996 – Formed a strategic partnership with Esquire Communications Ltd., a leading nationwide court reporting firm that provides printed and computerized transcripts, video recordings of deposition testimony and speech recognition systems to the legal profession.
1994 – Developed a visionary alliance with MCI Telecommunications (Worldcom), a recognized leader in offering voice, data and networking technology to the telecommunications industry. Through strategic branding, "Worldcom Translation Services" is offered worldwide via a network of national, global and major account representatives.
1992 – Introduced flagship "Telephone Interpreting" services, delivering technology advanced 24/7 on-demand or scheduled telephone interpreting services worldwide, representing over 150 various languages.
1987 – Introduced "Translation" services, specializing in offering general and technical document translation, project management and layout production services to the Legal, Medical, Entertainment, Publication and Insurance industries.
1981 – Introduced "Onsite Interpreting" services, which specializes in providing accredited and certified interpreters to the Legal, Medical and Insurance industries.
